At WWDC 2022, Apple unveiled a new MacBook Air and a new MacBook Pro, both equipped with the M2, the second generation of the internally developed chipset after the abandonment of Intel solutions.
Built on a 5nm process with 20 million transistors, the M2 has an 18% more powerful processor and a 35% faster video card than the M1. To support this performance boost, Apple uses up to 24GB of unified memory with a maximum bandwidth of 100Gbps.

The US company says that the new M2 processor is 1.9 times faster than the newest 10-core PC processors.
The new M2 chip will be used on a new version of the MacBook Air, which comes with a new design, inspired by the MacBook Pro. The base version has 8GB RAM, 256GB HDD and will cost $ 1,200. The screen has 13.6 inches with a resolution of 2560×1664 pixels and a maximum brightness of 500 nits.
Apple claims that the new MacBook Air will be 40% more powerful than the old model.
The new MacBook Pro with the same M2 processor offers up to 20 hours of battery life. Its prices will start at $ 1,300, and the maximum features will reach 24GB RAM, 2TB SSD HDD, 8 cores for the processor and 10 cores for the graphics solution.

IOS 16 operating system news
A new version of the iPhone operating system will be released this year, and Apple took advantage of the WWDC 2022 conference to present the first information about iOS 16.
The main novelty of iOS 16 is a completely changed lock screen, dynamic and with many customization options.
Most of the elements that are part of the lock screen will be able to be modified, from the shortcuts of the applications, to the background image and the fonts used to display the date and time, news.ro notes.
The new lock screen will support widgets. Apple has introduced its own lock screen widgets, such as those that display information from Calendar or Reminders. Widgets developed for third-party applications may also be added.
Some items on the lock screen will work dynamically. For example, the weather widget associated with the weather widget will be animated and represent the current weather conditions.
iOS 16 will include many other new features, beyond those now briefly presented by Apple. Many pre-installed applications will be upgraded or redesigned.
Most likely, iOS 16 will be officially launched with the launch of the iPhone 14.
Apple has also thought of a new multitasking system, which the company’s laptops and tablets will share starting this year, on the occasion of the latest versions of iPadOS and macOS.
Frequently criticized for its limited multitasking functionality, iPadOS will offer what Apple calls Stage Manager – a new application manager that should optimize working with multiple windows.
The new Stage Manager also displays the active application window in the center, with all other applications grouped by category, on the left side of the screen.
Windows can be moved from one group to another and even visibly overlaid, just like on a desktop. Up to four applications can be displayed simultaneously on the screen of an iPad.
iPadOS 16 also brings improvements in terms of collaboration. Apple demonstrated at WWDC 2022 how to share documents in the share menu and how they indicate in real time who and what is editing in a document.
Collaboration features extend beyond the realm of office applications, and can be initiated and tracked by other applications such as FaceTime during a call or iMessage in a conversation.
IPads will finally have a weather app developed by Apple and optimized for their larger screens, but not a computer.
