The premiere of the Jurassic Stories finale is just around the corner, and today we can read the first opinions about this nostalgic production. The word nostalgia seems to be the key in this case due to the fact that Jurassic World: Dominion tries to buckle the original productions together with new films (and it does not always work out).
Apparently, the return of Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum did not guarantee this production a unanimously enthusiastic reception, as the opinions of the reviewers are clearly mixed. Moreover, even the positive ones often indicate that the movie has some undeniable problems.
Most of the critics who liked the movie praises the entertaining and nostalgic aspects of production, emphasizing, among others returns of liked characters, crazy action with dinosaurs, and solid special effects. And those who did not like the film describe it as a disappointing finale, mainly criticizing the repetitiveness of production, saturation of the script with threads and putting aside the indispensable ones for a series of overgrown reptiles.
You can read some opinions below.
As he writes on Twitter Germain Lussier:
Indeed Jurassic World: Dominion is lame. Even very bad ones. The film is too long, insanely repetitive, and the dinosaurs serve as the backdrop for the series of many uninteresting, unrelated stories. The actors do what they can, but the whole thing is nonsense anyway. [Jurassic World: Dominion – dop. red.] is one of the worst if not the worst movie in the series.
He expressed a similar opinion Nicholas Whitcomb:
Maybe it’s because of the high quality of the last Top Gun, but I have to say that Jurassic World: Dominion it’s just bad production. The old cast (which is the main reason I went to the movies) seemed to sleepwalk throughout the movie, and the general presence of the dinosaurs could be felt for about ten minutes. Risk never seems real. Each character is able to outsmart exaggerated dinosaurs that are never scary compared to The Lost World: Jurassic Park. I am disappointed, even if I consider the previous films in the series Jurassic World.
She had a completely different impression Kit Bowenwhich praises the film for its action, a worthy closure of the trilogy and nostalgic references to previous productions:
I’ll just say it … I love it Jurassic World: Dominion. Action, spectacle, summary of the trilogy Jurassic Worldand, moreover, these references, these great references. Seeing the team in the series again Jurassic World it’s great, but it’s the original cast of Laura Dern, Sam Neill and my favorite Jeff Goldblum that makes for the icing on the cake.
Nostalgic notes Jurassic World: Dominion also went to William Kellywho appreciated the frivolous entertainment guaranteed by this movie:
Jurassic World: Dominion it’s pure, silly entertainment. The movie is full of nostalgic moments. On the other hand, there are some weird decisions like going from dinosaurs to insects. Regardless, Jeff Goldblum always honors everything he participates in.
